INTERVALIC MANUAL

Intervalic is a unique note generator that creates sequences based on musical intervals. Explore unique harmonic landscapes, generating ever-evolving patterns not easily available through traditional sequencing.

Outputs are indicated on the panel with a silver circle.

Switches are "OFF" to the left and "ON" to the right.

Lines on the panel connect each function to its corresponding CV input. Inputs are +/- 5V.

Panel Controls

ROOT KNOB

Use this knob to transpose a sequence over one octave.

INTERVAL KNOB

When a trigger is received this knob determines the interval the sequence advances. When completely counter-clockwise, the interval is zero and you won’t hear more than one note.

SEQUENCE EDGE SLIDERS [START & END]

The Edge Sliders deterine the start and end note of sequence. It has a four octave range, with middle C at the center notch. The Start LED displays the clock, and the End LED displays when it reaches an edge. Start out by trying with the Start slider in the center and the End slider all the way up. You should hear the notes of the sequence rising.

DIATONIC SWITCH

When switched off, the notes of the sequence will be unquantized. In the on position, the notes will be quantized to the Diatonic scale.

PENDULUM SWITCH

When switched on, the Pendulum switch makes the sequence bounce off the edges and begin to step in the opposite direction, the notes rising and falling like a pianist practicing their scales. Shown below is an example of what happens when switched on.

INVERT SWITCH

The Invert switch will invert the chosen interval when a sequence reaches either edge. For example, if the chosen interval is 3, when inverted, the interval will become 9. Play with the Invert switch and the Interval knob to see how this can spice up an otherwise plain sequence.

Inputs

RESET INPUT

The Reset input resets the sequence to the starting point determined by the Start slider. Use this input to achieve a more repetitive and controlled pattern.

TRIGGER INPUT

The Trigger input is where you should patch your clock or trigger stream. Every trigger received will advance the sequence one step. Try patching in some interesting trigger patterns and using the Reset input to generate some sick riffs.

Outputs

START OUT

The Start out sends out a trigger each time the sequence reaches an edge or is reset. Use this output to reset or trigger other sequencers. The Intervalic plays well with others.

CV OUT

This is your typical 1v/octave output. Send this out to your favorite oscillator and start jamming.
